Wayne Simmons Wayne Simmons
President & Chief Executive Officer/Board Director


Dr. Simmons is responsible for Sundrop Fuels' strategic direction and drives the company's financing, partnership formation and commercialization activities. He brings to Sundrop Fuels nearly 30 years of experience in the energy, chemical and environmental industries including 10 years in chief executive roles.

Prior to joining the company, Dr. Simmons was founding CEO of Velocys, Inc., a microchannel chemical process technology company that merged with a publicly traded UK company in 2008. Dr. Simmons spent much of his early career in various management and engineering positions at Exxon.

Dr. Simmons received his B.S. in Engineering from Texas A&M, an M.S. in Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He also completed the Executive Management Program at the University of Michigan Business School.


Bandel Carano
Managing Partner Oak Investment Partners


Mr. Carano joined Oak Investment Partners in 1985 and became a General Partner in 1987. In addition to clean energy technology, he has overseen investments in companies with an emphasis on wireless and communications, advanced software systems, advanced semiconductors and design automation.

Previously, Mr. Carano was with Morgan Stanley’s Venture Capital Group, where he was responsible for advising the firm on high-tech new business development, as well as sponsoring venture investments.

Mr. Carano received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He currently serves on the Investment Advisory Board of the Stanford Engineering Venture Fund.


Domenic J. Dell'Osso, Jr.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Chesapeake Energy Corp.


Domenic J. Dell'Osso, Jr. was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in November 2010. Mr. Dell’Osso served as Vice President – Finance of the Company and Chief Financial Officer of Chesapeake's wholly owned midstream subsidiary Chesapeake Midstream Development, L.P. from August 2008 to November 2010. Prior to joining Chesapeake, Mr. Dell'Osso was an energy investment banker with Jefferies & Co. from 2006 to 2008 and Banc of America Securities from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Dell'Osso graduated from Boston College in 1998 and from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003.


Chuck Enze
CEO, Luminant Construction


Chuck Enze is the CEO of Luminant Construction, a competitive power generation subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings Corp. Luminant’s activities include plant, mine, wholesale marketing and trading, and development operations. Previously, Mr. Enze served as Vice President, Engineering & Projects for Shell International Exploration. He brings to Sundrop Fuels more than 30 years of experience leading major projects from concept through execution to start-up and steady-state operations. Among his accomplishments, Mr. Enze was influential in spearheading Shell’s portfolio of global deepwater developments spanning two decades across the U.S., Africa, Brazil and the Far East.

A native of South Dakota, Mr. Enze graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and is a graduate of Shell’s Advanced Management Program at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. He was appointed to the Sundrop Fuels, Inc. board of directors in January 2013.


Joe Lacob
Partner Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers


Mr. Lacob has been a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers since 1987. He has been closely involved with KPCB’s investments in more than 50 life science companies, including the start-up or incubation of a dozen ventures with KPCB’s medical technology practice, which includes over thirty therapeutic and diagnostic medical device companies. He is part of KPCB’s growing initiative in the fields of greentech and alternative energy.
In addition to serving on the Board of Sundrop Fuels, Mr. Lacob also serves on the Board of Directors of one public company, Align Technology, as well as several other privately-held companies, including NeuroPace, TherOx, ATI and TransMedics.

In addition to serving on the Board of Sundrop Fuels, Mr. Lacob also serves on the Board of Directors of two public companies, Align Technology and Orexigen as well as several other privately-held companies, including Ophthonix, NeuroPace, TherOx, Arresto Biosciences and Codon Devices.

He received his B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Irvine, his M.S. in Public Health from UCLA and his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Bryan J. Lemmerman
Vice President – Finance at Chesapeake Energy Corporation


Bryan Lemmerman joined the board in April 2013. He has served as Vice President – Finance at Chesapeake Energy Corporation since January 2012 and served as Director – Finance from 2010 to 2011. Prior to joining Chesapeake, Mr. Lemmerman served as a consultant to various oil and gas companies and private equity firms from 2008 to 2010. Mr. Lemmerman was a portfolio manager at Highview Capital Management from 2006 to 2008 and at Ritchie Capital Management from 2003 to 2006. Mr. Lemmerman has served as a member of the board of directors for FTS International since February 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Lemmerman is also a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
